One of the reasons I’m not totally thrilled with the thought of doing movie or dvd reviews is this simple fact: What one person loves, the next may despise and what one person loathes, the next may want to see 101 times! However, having said that, I feel pretty comfortable in saying that Mogambo is one of the worst movies ever.

It floored me just how bad it was because it actually stars three of the greatest stars of all time: Clark Gable, Grace Kelly, and the ridiculously gorgeous Ava Gardner. How could it possibly miss??? Well, watch and see!

Actually, Mogambo is one of those movies that’s so bad you kind of enjoy it in spite of yourself. Gable, Gardner, and Kelly seemed to be just trying to get through the whole thing. A few times it looked like they were as horrified by the lines they were saying as I was the lines I was hearing.

While I don’t care much (obviously, huh?!) for the movie, the movie poster is awesome!  Movie posters from the Golden Age of Hollywood are an art form, themselves, and I can never get enough of them. The fonts, the pictures, the exclamation marks (there are always, always lots of them)… they’re just classic.  Filmed on safari in Africa!  Mighty! The Battle of the Sexes!  The Battle of the Gorillas!

Mighty?!?!

See? Classic.
