Lana Turner, who was married a total of 8 times, was being interviewed by Hedda Hopper. Future husband Lex Barker (Number 4) was in the same room. There was a large vase of flowers blocking Lana’s view of Lex, so she got up, walked across the room and removed them, remarking, “He’s brand new and I want to look at him!”

I got an e-mail from a lady the other day who is redecorating her basement. She’s decorating it with vintage movie posters and knick knacks/figurines from the golden age of Hollywood. My kind of gal!!! I asked her who her favorites were, and told her mine (Lucy, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, Lauren Bacall, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Elvis, Clark Gable, and Cary Grant) – She wrote back with her faves: Lana Turner, Ingrid Bergman, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Spencer Tracy, and James Dean.
When I read the list, my first thought was of “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde,” which starred three of her favorites: Spencer Tracy, Ingrid Bergman, and Lana Turner. Okay, that’s a lie, my first thought was, “Where’s Ava?!?!” —THEN, “What about Lucy?!”—-THEN, “How can she not have little Audrey…”—THEN I thought of the movie.
