Walt Disney Pictures has announced that they will be making a fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film and Johnny Depp is already onboard as one of the most memorable characters ever, Captain Jack Sparrow.
Apparently, however, the fourth movie will be setting sail without Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom.
“I had an amazing journey with those three films, but I think it’s on to different things,” Keira Knightley recently told MTV News. She mentioned that she has no idea what’s going on with the new installment, and she will not be back.
Love Keira. Love Orlando. But they’re not as essential to the POTC franchise as the flamboyant Captain. I’ll post more casting news as I get it.
So, there you have it. If even Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, and Keira Knightley can make mistakes, I guess the rest of us are allowed to.
The 2008 MTV Movie Awards will air, LIVE, on Sunday night, June 1. You can go to MTV.com to vote for your favorites.
The Nominees for the “2008 MTV Movie Awards” are below, with my personal picks in bold. It’s been such an AMAZING year for movies and performances that I had to tie quite a few times. As with any awards show, so many movies, actresses, actors were overlooked. Sweeney Todd, Ocean’s 13, Fractured, 3:18 to Yuma, and Live Free or Die Hard should have been considered for movie. Johnny Depp and George Clooney, Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter (Sweeney Todd), Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, and Ryan Gosling all gave amazing performances.

Be sure to vote for your favorites. Then take your mom, wife, and/or girlfriend to dinner. With Mother’s Day coming up, she won’t be expecting an early “bonus” treat! Then? The best part… Take her to see Iron Man. GREAT MOVIE.
The Oscar Nominations came out today and there were a few big, fat surprises. Mainly, the fact that neither Keira Knightley or Angelina Jolie were nominated for lead actress. They were amazing in their heartwrenching roles!
I’m also amazed that Sweeney Todd wasn’t nominated for best movie – it was, in my opinion, one of the best of the year. Another of the best, Juno, did get a nom…as did the very young actress, Ellen Page. Deservedly so! Johnny Depp was nominated for lead actor and (imo) it’ll come down between him and George Clooney (Michael Clayton – another favorite).
