Love it! Around this time every year, I start getting especially antsy for baseball season to start, so I thought Who’s on First would be a fun way to take care of my withdrawal. And as a St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, I pretty much had to go with the St. Louis version of Abbott and Costello’s classic routine.
The Collector’s Edition of The Abbott and Costello Show (shown below) is normally close to $80 (and that’s on Amazon, everywhere else it’s a lot more). However, we Abbott and Costello fanatics can get it right now for nearly half the price. Click through for more information.
Great. Now these songs will be on my mind 24/7. Not that I mind, I think the songs (and killer dancing moves) are adorable. They’re from the wonderful 1974 Christmas special The Year Without a Santa Claus. Enjoy – and good luck getting the tunes out of your head.
You know the old saying, “If I had a dollar for every ____,” filling in the blank with what ever excessive thing you could hit pay day with?! Well, the Brady Bunch would pay off big time for me. Truly, if I had a dollar for every Brady Bunch episode I’ve ever watched, I’d be a millionaire. Like Gilligan, Andy Griffith, Sanford & Son, I Love Lucy, and Good Times, I could trade my hours for oodles of cash.
Do you remember the scene above? It’s from a 1973 episode titled ‘Amateur Night.’ The kids want to buy a silver platter for their parent’s anniversary but fall short of the required money. They form a group, call themselves the Silver Platters, and enter an amateur singing contest. I actually really like their harmony and voices. ,’ Did you know that, in real life, the Brady kids recorded four albums and did a variety show?
I just can’t stay inside all day… I gotta get out, get me some of those ra-ays….
My dad and I never missed an episode of Charlie’s Angels. My mom would roll her eyes and find something (anything) else to do but for an hour each week, two of us never blinked. Sure, it was far-fetched, outrageous, and over the top. Why did we watch? You guessed it, because it was far-fetched, outrageous, and over the top!
ABC’s bringing the outrageous fun back to tv this fall – now isn’t that cool of them? Below is the video teaser. I venture that a lot of people will be glued to ABC at 8/7 C each Thursday night. I’m game!
I’m really excited about the movie Warrior. It won’t be out until the fall, unfortunately – but when it does hit theaters, I think it’ll hit them hard. I’ll certainly be there to see it.
Warrior Synopsis: The youngest son (Tom Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nick Nolte) returns home, where he’s trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament. He ultimately finds himself squared off against his older brother (Joel Edgerton). Jennifer Morrison stars as Tom Hardy’s wife.
The movie also stars Kurt Angle, who can currently be seen in an outrageously bizarre, yet darned entertaining, romp of a movie called Dylan Dog: Dead of Night. In this wild movie, Angle plays Wolfgang.
By the way, if you haven’t seen Fast Five, you really have to see it this weekend – it’s the best in the series. It’s hilarious, packed with action, and one of the most entertaining movies of the year. If you have seen it, give Dylan Dog a try. I’m willing to bet you haven’t seen anything quite like it in a while! It actually has quite a few laugh out loud moments – and as far as I’m concerned, that makes it a winner.
Here’s the Official Movie Trailer for Fast Five with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Brunette beauties Gal Gadot (Giselle) and Jordana Brewster (Mia) are back, along with Diesel and Walker. Also returning to the franchise are Tyrese Gibson (Transformers, Death Race, Legion, Four Brothers, 2 Fast, 2 Furious) as Roman Pearce, Ludacris (Max Payne) as Tej, and Sung Kang returns to the role of Han Lue.
Fast Five, which boasts an all-star cast in every since of the word also stars Dwayne Johnson and Spanish actress Elsa Pataky (Snakes on a Plane).
Fast Five’s Plot:
Brian O’Conner (former officer, played by Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the “other” side of the law. Brian and Mia (Dom’s sister) broke Dom out of custody, and they’ve now eluding authorities across borders.
They find themselves pretty much trapped and running out of time in Rio de Janeiro. They realize they have to pull one last BIG job in order to gain their freedom.
They assemble an elite team of top racers, the best of the best. Tough guy federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) plays the sort of man who always gets his guy. He, of course, is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture the two.
As Hobbs and his men tear up Brazin in pursuit, he realizes that it’s getting nearly impossible to tell the “players” apart… Who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy?
To make things even more interesting, Hobbs isn’t the only one after Dom and Brian. Someone else is on their trails and they don’t want them captured – they want them dead.
Gorgeous scenery, fast action, and a killer cast. This is one to start looking forward to right now.
When it comes to acting and when it comes to movies, Johnny Depp is the man. When it comes to pirates, Captain Jack Sparrow is the pirate. So to say that I’ve been anxiously awaiting the trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean On Strangers Tides would be like saying Rita Hayworth was a female.
Woeful understatement.
Now that I’ve gotten my “trailer fix,” I now enter a desperate state of anxiousness awaiting opening night! Given that it won’t be until May, I’m in for a long haul.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has an all-star cast that makes any movie fanatic’s head swoon. Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush? Outstanding!
Johnny Depp – Jack Sparrow
Ian McShane – Blackbeard
Penélope Cruz – Angelica
Geoffrey Rush – Barbossa
Gemma Ward – Tamara
Richard Griffiths – King George II
Judi Dench - ?????
Stephen Graham – Scrum
Keith Richards – Captain Teague
Sam Claflin – Philip
Kevin McNally – Gibbs
Astrid Berges-Frisbey – Syrena

I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t get through the day without a little (or a lotta) Johnny Cash in the background. Great music – and what a voice!
If you’re a huge Johnny Cash fan – you’re sure to love the Johnny Cash T-Shirts below, not to mention the videos! If you’re pretty new to Johnny Cash music, sit back and enjoy – I know you’ll be a huge fan in no time at all.
