Don’t Send in the Clowns! Or the Snakes, Or the Butterflies, Or the Pigs…

by Joi on November 3, 2008

Johnny Depp

According to one of my favorite websites, Popeater, the following celebrities have the following phobias:

Johnny Depp has Coulophobia: A fear of clowns. Johnny told The Courier Mail, “I guess I am afraid of them because it’s impossible — thanks to their painted-on smiles, to distinguish if they are happy or if they’re about to bite your face off.”

Daniel Radcliffe also has a great fear of clowns.

Carmen Electra has a fear of water. “I get terrified anywhere near it and have a panic attack,” she confessed to Sky One Magazine.

Jennifer Aniston developed a fear of flying after being caught in an electrical storm on a flight from Toronto to New York City.

One of my favorite celeb fears is courtesy of Orlando Bloom. The man’s afraid of pigs!

Matthew McConaughey gets all kinds of stressed out around revolving doors.

Justin Timberlake (something we can all relate to) doesn’t confine his fears to just one thing. He lists sharks, spiders and snakes amongst the things he’d never want to encounter.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is extremely afraid of graveyards. According to people who worked with her on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, fake graveyard sets had to be built because she refused to film in graveyards. (From a standpoint of respect and decency, I’d have to side with her on this one!)

With a fear that makes Orlando’s seem more reasonable, one of the greatest actresses of our time, Nicole Kidman, is terrified of butterflies. “Sometimes when I would come home from school the biggest butterfly or moth you’d ever seen would be just sitting on our front gate. I would climb over the fence or crawl around to the side of the house - anything to avoid having to go through the front gate.”

My greatest fear is snakes - but I’m also frightfully claustrophobic and terrified of high places and deep water. How about it? What are your greatest fears? Do you share any of these celebrities fears?

Johnny Depp and George Clooney Top Off One Sexy List

by Joi on October 14, 2008

Johnny Depp

According to a new survey in Britain’s Cosmopolitan Magazine, Johnny Depp is the sexiest man in the world.

The pride of Owensboro, Kentucky finished above some pretty impressive competition, and prooved something we already knew: Men under the age of 40 have nothing on men over 40.

George Clooney came in second place, closely followed by Jake Gyllenhaal at third.

Daniel Craig was fourth and Brad Pitt rounded came in at number 5.

Johnny Depp and George Clooney - Teaming Up For The Lone Ranger?

by Joi on September 27, 2008

Johnny Depp

Hi-Yo, Silver! It looks as though two of my favorite actors will be teaming up in the film “The Lone Ranger.” Johnny Depp has signed on to play Tonto and word is that George Clooney will be The Lone Ranger, himself. Apparently Clooney has long wanted to make a movie with The Depp. (I think that’s true of most people.)

According to British tabloid reports, these two legends in the making will team up in the big screen adaptation of the long-running 1950s TV show.

Depp’s involvement, as sidekick Tonto, was recently confirmed by Disney Studios bosses.

The screenplay will be penned by Pirates of the Caribbean writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio.

by Joi on June 4, 2008

So, there you have it. If even Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, and Keira Knightley can make mistakes, I guess the rest of us are allowed to.

Oscar Nominations Came Out Today

by Joi on January 22, 2008

The Oscar Nominations came out today and there were a few big, fat surprises. Mainly, the fact that neither Keira Knightley or Angelina Jolie were nominated for lead actress. They were amazing in their heartwrenching roles!

I’m also amazed that Sweeney Todd wasn’t nominated for best movie - it was, in my opinion, one of the best of the year. Another of the best, Juno, did get a nom…as did the very young actress, Ellen Page. Deservedly so! Johnny Depp was nominated for lead actor and (imo) it’ll come down between him and George Clooney (Michael Clayton - another favorite).
