Elvis Fans Will Love TV Land in August

Elvis fans, you might want to go ahead and put your TV on TV Land tonight and leave it there for about a month. August is Elvis month on TV Land - a channel that my television is never far from anyway. They’re paying tribute to the king and doing so in grand style! Elvis Month highlights include movies like “Speedway,” “Love Me Tender,” “Wild in Country,” “Fun in Acapulco,” “Roustabout,” “Girl Happy,” “Paradise Hawaiian Style,” “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “Live a Little Love a Little,” and specials like “Elvis & Me,” “Elvis: His Best Friends Remember,” Elvis concerts including the “1968 Comeback Special,” “Aloha from Hawaii,” and “Elvis on Tour!” There will be a different movie or special everyday in August.

The channel aired “Speedway a few days ago.” I hadn’t seen it in two forevers - I’d forgotten how cute Nancy Sinatra was in this movie - she and the big E looked amazing together. I recently read that during the making of the movie, Priscilla Presley was pregnant with Lisa Marie…okay, that much I knew. What I didn’t know is that Nancy Sinatra gave her a baby shower. Ahhhh, cute and sweet.

Can you believe it’s been 30 years since we lost Elvis?! I guess everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing when news of his death broke. He was one of the greatest entertainers ever and I’m not sure there’ll ever be another one like him.

By the time September rolls around, my cats will know every song Elvis ever sang and every line he ever uttered. It’ll be Elvis month in our household as well as on TV Land…so watch for plenty of Elvis to spill over on the blog this month!
