Gina Lollobrigida
One of the most beautiful and compelling actresses to ever live is one who doesn’t get nearly enough attention these days – not in the States anyway. Gina Lollobrigida should, in all honestly, be mentioned and remembered along with the other great stars of Hollywood we talk about so freely and regularly: Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall… Promlem is, her films aren’t shown as regularly as those of the other legendary actresses.
In fact, I can’t remember the last time I saw a Gina Lollobrigida film on television. I’ve seen the episode of The Flintstones where Fred sings her name over and over probably 10 times more often than I’ve seen her films aired on tv!
That is, obviously, are real shame.

If, like me, you very much want to see her filmography, buying her dvds is the way to go. Fortunately many are available and easy to find. She truly is one of the all-time great beauties… and so much charisma!
You can find the 1956 The Hunchback of Notre Dame on dvd (Amazon link).
