I have been trying to find pictures of Barbara Hale to add to the Old Hollywood blog. I absolutely adore her and want to write more about her. Problem is, photos can be hard to come by! She didn’t make many films.. which is only part of the problem. The films she did make don’t have a lot of publicity photos!
VERY frustrating when you’re trying to promote her and her films.
I have found one publicity photo from her 1953 western Seminole and it’s a beauty! We all knew how lovely Della Street (Perry Mason) was, but Barbara Hale was even more beautiful than the secretary she played.
Seminole was directed by Budd Boetticher and also starred Rock Hudson, Anthony Quinn, Richard Carlson, Lee Marvin, Hugh O’Brian, and Russell Johnson.
You can buy Seminole on dvd (Amazon link). Also keep an eye out for it on SEWS (on DirecTV) – every now and then it pops up on television and the Westerns’ channel is probably your second best bet (right behind having the dvd).
I hope to have more photos of the wonderful actress soon.
