Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau
I’ve always said it because it has always been true – I am drawn to clowns. I married a stereotypical “class clown,” and no one who knew me was the least bit surprised.
My favorite people are those who make me laugh out loud. How better to ensure a happy life than to spend it with someone who does just that?!
When it comes to my favorite actors, actresses, movies, television shows, etc… you’ll always find plenty of proof of my love for laughing. Lucille Ball, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Jerry Lewis, Lewis & Martin, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, The Andy Griffith Show… my favorite lists often read like a Comedy Hall of Fame salute.
Make no mistake about it, those of us who love few things more than laughing have a great appreciation for Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau – two of the all-time great comedic actors. They were so completely flawless in everything they ever did!
And when they teamed up for one movie, it’s honestly almost more than my sides can take. The extraordinary duo (and friend in real life) made 8 films together and they were all wonderful.
Whether it was The Odd Couple films, The Front Page, The Fortune Cookie, or the Grumpy Old Men movies, they teamed up as well as any comedy team you can name.
Yes. ANY.
